Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, Preens designers, evolved the elegantly deconstructed masculine-tailoring-with-femininity story they started to tell last season.
This time, the flou element was inspired by a trip to Egypt, and the play of light and shadow through the decorative fretwork of Arab architecture. The designers used a pale palette of colors which contrasted perfectly with all the textures made from their handcrafted techniques such as caviar beading and smocking diamond pattern. The multi-layered skirts and pants where amazing, showing perfect cuts, creating new volumes that matched perfectly with simple tops. Every piece of the collection, seen as an artwork, by mixing different fabrics and crafts such as pleated silk, cotton, structured crepe, made a unique look high end minimalist casual and fresh.
I love this brand, feeling identified with their elegant, deconstructed-asymmetrical-multi layered cuts, making an amazing garment from plain monochrome fabrics. Here we can see the creativity of transforming something simple to a voluminous magnificent piece.
